intensive care unit, mother’s milk is vitally important to
guard against disease. And few forces on earth are as strong as
a mother’s desire to be near her baby and meet the needs of
her child. So when a baby is born too soon or too small and must
be hospitalized, all other priorities fade into the background
— including the need for a restful environment and healthy
diet for the nursing mother.
